WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Metro riders were stranded in the early hours Sunday after the transit agency failed to live up to its Daylight Saving Time commitment.
On Friday, Metro reported trains would offer an extra hour of service as clocks rolled back one hour Sunday at 2 a.m.

@wmata (@wmata) November 02, 2012However, much to the chagrin of many irate expectant passengers, Metro shut down at its normal time of 2 a.m. Sunday — or 1 a.m. after the rollback –- leaving riders to fend for themselves on how to get home.
Social media exploded from angry patrons who were turned away in the dark to either walk home in the cold or pay for an expensive cab ride.
